The nutrition program includes coursework in:
- Sciences: chemistry, biology, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.
- Food: safety, science, systems and meal management.
Students also study nutrition in the health and lifespan, clinical nutrition therapy, 社区 nutrition, nutrition education and counseling.
The Department of 营养 and Food Studies offers two bachelor of science (B.S.)学位. 在 营养B.S. (营养学), students prepare to work in a variety of health and health promotion fields, many as registered dietitians. 在 营养科学 B.S., students study the biological and physical sciences to prepare for postgraduate work in medicine, 牙科, education or health care, or to work for major food or pharmaceutical companies.

营养 science and dietetics students most often go abroad to Syracuse’s centers in Florence, Italy; London, England; and Madrid, 西班牙. Students have also studied at World Partner programs CEA Prague; SIT India: 公共卫生, 性别, and Community Action; and the University of Queensland.
Summer programs of interest may include South Africa Immersion: A Global Health Education Experience; and Mediterranean Food and Culture: An Italian Experience (Florence).
